This week has been all about gathering near the fire…home and hearth. I’m feeling really energized lately with local connections, almost as if my pondering in this post has brought more people into my life in the here and now.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my far-flung family and friends (and my online friends!) but nothing beats people stopping by for play or juice or both. Ahhhh.
I only made it out running once this week. To tell the truth, I haven’t really gotten back into the swing of things since the start of preschool about five weeks ago. I still run, just not three-times-a-week religiously. But I am so ready to get back into super-slow-yet-wildly-enthusiastic running!
It’s so funny how during the first 18 months or so with Z we had soooo much time to fill during our days, and now we have a schedule! that’s packed!–way better for my mental health, but it just means I have less time to run.
I think part of the shakeup is the change of season itself, beyond just new preschool hours. It’s like my body needs time to adjust to the new world outside, and it’s going to be a little wonky until it does.
Who’s with me?

This week I wrote a guest post for Emma’s blog about why I chose to give birth in a hospital. Even though I’m a natural-birth-lovin’ hippie mama! Check it out.
And while you’re at it, check out her birth stories series and her new how we met series.

That’s it for me this week…stay tuned next week for some insights into picky eaters (adult and child), easy sauces and more! As always, let me know if you have a question you would like me to address in a podcast or a blog post.
What are you up to? How is the season change affecting you?
